RDTA is the titan of e-juice tank atomizer as it tower over other typical rebuildable tank atomizers like RBAs and RTAs. RDTAs take the best of both worlds and combine them into a single unit, which means they have both a glass e-juice reservoir and a removable top cap that also provides users with access to the coil build inside.

You want a novelty atomizer that can also perform
You want to fill a tank once and never again for a long while
You want a device that has many coil configurations
The Ragnar RDTA is one of the biggest RDTAs ever to emerge as it measures close to 35mm in width and features a multi-leveled construction. The Ragnar is an all-stainless steel beast that features an 18ml e-juice capacity that can be increased to a whopping 25ml with the installation of another glass piece. If the Ragnar is too big for some to handle, the kit also includes a chamber reducer piece that can shrink the atomizer’s size. The Ragnar also includes two removable build decks (one a four-post deck, the other, postless) that can accommodate single and dual, even triple, coil builds.
Pros:
Versatile device (two build decks)
The postless build deck supports several coil builds
Excellent flavor production

The Supreme V3 RDTA from Steam Crave is a multi-functional atomizer with many features and stands at 60mm in height. The Supreme V3 surprises users with its dual airflow styles, its two available build decks, and three different e-juice capacities (2ml, 6ml, 7ml), which are all supported by the fully-equipped kit. The atomizer can also support single coil builds when the pre-installed build deck is in place, although users can switch it out for the postless deck in the kit.
The Wotofo Profile RDTA boasts an all-stainless steel construction along with an innovative build deck that can accommodate several different coil builds. The Profile also comes with two pre-built coils made from a new coil material, nexMESH, which combines Clapton coils with all-mesh material. The tank atomizer also has a 6.2ml e-juice capacity and can easily transform into either an RDA or a BF squonk device with the 510-squonk pin included in the kit. The kit also contains several tools like a screwdriver and trimming tools to train novice builders on how to mount their preferred coil build.
Pros:
Essentially three atomizers in one (RDTA, RDA, BF)
The Steam Crave Aromamizer is the second version of the Aromamizer vape RDTA that can hold either 6mL or 3mL of e-juice. This vape RDTA has its build-deck underneath the tank section, which is a change from the top-mounted decks of other units. The build-deck is a Velocity-style (the best deck for beginners), two post deck with four lead slots on either post.
This type of deck can accommodate single and dual coil builds. The posts use side-screw to secure their leads, and there is a bottom-fill port for the tank. There are also bottom airflow vents, one on each side. The entire RDTA is stainless steel and glass, and the deck itself is also stainless steel.
The unit measures close to 23mm in diameter (0.9 inches), and it uses PEEK insulators at the bottom to protect against a potential charge from a mod. The base is knurled to give vapers a better grip when unscrewing the deck from the RDTA. There is also a 510 connection on the base and a heating chamber that caps the deck when users reinstall a coil build back into the tank section.
The Vandy Vape Pyro V4 is an updated version of the original dripper with an increased 5ml e-juice capacity. The Pyro V4 also boasts a redesigned airflow system that floods the chamber with air from all sides, thanks to the dual-sided airflow vents. In addition, the atomizer features a postless build deck that can support both single and dual coil builds. The build deck has a honeycomb design making it easier to mount even complicated coil builds, while the bottom section features an all-Pyrex glass tank piece.
The Hellvape Helheim RDTA is a versatile, adaptable rebuildable that comes with a single 4.5ml e-juice capacity and has multiple airflow options. The Helheim has an all-stainless steel build and has three different airflow designs that range from the typical slotted airflow control ring to a honeycomb style. Vapers can also attach the airflow control ring at various places from the bottom, middle or top of the atomizer.
Reasons to Get This:
You want a well-made device

The ParavozZ Ghost V2 Styled RDTA is an immaculately-made, all-titanium rebuildable that features a sleek, unblemished exterior and a minimalist, single-coil build deck. The entire device is 100% titanium and has an all-ULTEM e-juice tank that can hold up to 5ml of e-liquid. The design of the tank features a slim, 22mm in diameter with ridged lines along with top cap that lead from the extended mouthpiece.
The Thunderhead Creations Tauren Max RDTA is a unique, multi-faceted atomizer that features a newly designed build deck and a 32 hole, honeycomb-style airflow regulator. The rebuildable has an innovative design for a build deck, which consists of a Y-shaped formation that can accept up to four leads from either a single or dual-coil build. The airflow design also ensures the most airflow possible to enhance flavors.
RDTA stands for rebuildable dripping tank atomizer, which is only one version of several different rebuildable atomizers. Add these acronyms to other possible tank atomizers:
An RTA is a rebuildable tank atomizer, which is like an RDTA but is strictly a tank atomizer, with a glass section, whereas a rebuildable dripping tank atomizer (RDTA) can function both as a vape RDA and an RTA, that’s why RDTA.
Dripping atomizers have small juice wells under their build decks, but no separate tank section to hold e-juice. Users have to remove the top cap while vaping and “drip” e-juice onto their wick and coils whenever the build runs dry.
An RDTA can hold e-juice within its configuration (glass section), so vapers do not have to keep removing the top cap to saturate their coil builds, which is best for some people. So, RDTAs are RDAs with a tank section attached, maybe the best way to describe it. RDTA tanks can either have their glass tank section above or beneath the build deck.
Some RDTAs on this list can switch between the two styles, a “tank” atomizer, and a “dripping” atomizer. The one main thing that vapers need to do to make the switch is to remove the glass section and attach a top cap above the build deck, which is the best and the only way to access the wick and coils.
Why Use an RDTA?
Rebuildable atomizers, in general, offer vapers a 100% customizable vape, just like with regulated mods. First off, though, anyone who wants to vape on a rebuildable atomizer needs to know the following:
Ohms law to determine the ideal resistance of any build
Knowledge of battery capacity and safety
With pre-built coils, like those that come with sub-ohm tanks, pod mods and other e-cig setups, a vaper has limited options to change anything about the coil. They might be best for beginners, but if someone wants a different experience or a different style of vaping, they need to buy new ones to change the entire head.
With other types, vapers cannot change the wicking material, increase the strength or resistance of the coil, or add more coils to the build. The versatility and personalization that all rebuildable atomizers offer are what makes them so popular with certain types of vapers. One other essential reason vapers use RDTAs is for flavor production. RDAs, unlike sub-ohm tanks, do not have a chimney that directs vapor to a mouthpiece when vaping.
The top cap sits directly above the coils, so the vapor goes directly into a vaper’s mouth, which is the best to keep the flavor alive. An RTA and RDA combination blends two styles, maintaining the flavor quality of an RDA, while also offering the convenience of a tank atomizer.
Pros and Cons of Using an RDTA
Pros:
More e-liquid capacity
Better flavor quality
Can be used as either a tank or a dripping atomizer
Easy-fill methods
Cons:
They are large in size
More upkeep and maintenance than with RDAs
Many different pieces needed to work than other atomizers
Best RDTA of 2022: The Last Word
Are any of these RDTAs vapes familiar to you? Have you gotten better flavor/performance from any of these units? Are you a dripper or a tank vaper? Would you ever buy or consider using the tanks on this list? Let us know your thoughts in the section below.
RDTAs offer the perfect balance between “dripping” and “tank” atomizers. They use several types of build decks that vapers can also find on RDAs. Only RDTAs come with the added convenience of having a higher e-juice capacity than RDAs, so vapers do not have to keep adding e-juice to their coils manually.
All the units on this list offer the best of both (or several) worlds since some of these units come with BF squonking pins so they can work with those types of mods as well. There are few differences between them, as not all of them can work as RDAs, while others are strictly RDTAs. Some vapers do not see the need to create a single device with both of those qualities and would prefer to use either/or with their mod.
But RDTA tanks are generally very versatile since vapers can change so much about them, from the coils to the e-juice capacity, to the build deck, and even down to something as small as the mouthpiece.
